Britney Spears shows nerves at US X Factor launch

SINGER Britney Spears appeared nervous ahead of her grand unveiling as one of the US X Factor’s new celebrity judges.

The Toxic singer will join Simon Cowell, music executive LA Reid and another new judge, actress and singer Demi Lovato, when the show returns in September.

Britney, 30, pulled out all the stops for the show’s official launch in New York with two thigh skimming mini-dresses.

But she was clearly feeling a little jittery before meeting the press, biting her nails down until they bled.

Britney is thought to have negotiated a £9.3 million ($15m) pay packet to be a panellist on the show, though her fellow new recruit Demi is rumoured to be earning £625,000 ($1m).
