ABERDEEN’S Andoni Correas Illarramendi may not be one of the country’s top athletes, but the 27-year-old Spaniard can forever claim he has held an Olympic stadium record.
Andoni was competing for Aberdeen University in the British students’ championships.
He led the field home in the B final of the 10,000 metres in 32min 54.75sec.
That became the inaugural stadium record for the event but, sadly for Andoni, lasted barely an hour when it was smashed in the A race.
