Pizza Roma: Market Place, Inverurie

WITH a growing brood, a trip to a restaurant can be akin to an expedition.
As the prospect of venturing out for a quick bite’s a thing of the past, bringing the restaurant home is a close second.
Via Roma in Inverurie has always been a favourite spot and their takeaway, Pizza Roma, provides the best of both worlds.
I plumped for the home-made spinach and ricotta cannelloni (£6.50), which proved delicious thanks to the generous filling and tangy tomato topping.
My wife’s Pollo Toscana (£9.50) was just as mouth-watering. A tender chicken breast smothered with pineapple and chilli in a rich tomato sauce, it was served with a perfect portion of spaghetti and an extra order of a Greek salad (£3.50).
Of course Pizza Roma takes its name from its speciality, which again did not disappoint.
With two hungry schoolkids fresh from a day’s play in the holidays, a 12in Margherita with extra sweetcorn (£8) hit the spot perfectly.
Freshly stone-baked, like my garlic bread with mozzarella (£3), it was as authentic as they come – a reflection on everything at Pizza Roma. Bellissimo!
