Top athletes ready to go head-to-head at Balmoral

THE clash between Scottish internationals Nicola Gauld and Rhona Auckland promises to be one of the highlights of this year’s Balmoral road races.

Aberdeen AAC’s Nicola and Banchory Stonehaven AC’s Rhona will compete alongside more than 800 other runners in the ConocoPhillips 5K road race at the end of this month.

The course record of 17min 46sec, set by former Aberdeen athlete Fiona Thompson (Central AC) last year, looks certain to be smashed with these two top quality athletes in the field.
