Explosions heard as fire rips through plant

MASSIVE flames were seen and an explosion heard at a fire today.

Grampian Fire and Rescue Service had four appliances at a fish processing house in Sandend, near Banff, which caught fire in the early hours of today.

A nearby resident described being terrified by the ferocious fire at J Smith Fish Merchants, at Sandend, near Banff and added: “My family could hear the flames and the crackling of the fire, then there was a big explosion.”
