TO MARK my mum and dad’s 50th anniversary, I thought I would treat them to lunch.
A quick look on The Three Lums’ website revealed if I signed up to their newsletter, I could take advantage of the two meals and two drinks promotion for £9.99 – music to my ears!
My mum and I both opted for the rump steak, part of the two-meal deal. I ordered a side of peppercorn sauce, while my mum fancied adding the Cajun Load Up – crunchy button mushrooms, corn on the cob and onion rings, which were deliciously crispy.
My son Ryan went for a king-size version of the Ultimate Combo, (chicken breast, rump steak and scampi), while my dad had fish and chips.
The steak, which came with chips and grilled tomato, was cooked to perfection, and I was impressed with the peppercorn sauce.
Dad declared his fish and chips were “affa fine”.
Although Ryan found his steak a little on the tough side, he found the chicken breast succulent and tasty. And judging by his empty plate, his steak couldn’t have been that tough, either!
Dad and I bowed out of the dessert menu but that didn’t stop me spooning in to Ryan’s chocolate fudge cake, which was melt-in-the mouth delicious.
