Scots comedian to take role of dwarf warrior
BILLY Connolly is going from Big Yin to dwarf to complete the cast of Peter Jackson’s movie version of The Hobbit.
The Scottish comic and actor will play Dain Ironfoot, a great dwarf warrior, in the two-part film prequel to JRR Tolkien’s The Lord Of The Rings.
Peter said: “We could not think of a more fitting actor to play Dain Ironfoot, the staunchest and toughest of dwarves.
“With Billy stepping into this role, the cast of The Hobbit is now complete. We can’t wait to see him on the battlefield.”
Martin Freeman is starring in the lead role of hobbit Bilbo Baggins.
