THE loving mum of an Aberdeen teenager locked up for stealing cars, motorbikes and bicycles worth £51,330 today said she hoped he had learned his lesson.
Craig Strachan, 16, pleaded guilty to carrying out a string of thefts across Aberdeen during a six-month crime spree – including stealing a BMW 730 car worth £40,000 and a Porsche.
Strachan, whose address was listed in Aberdeen Sheriff Court papers as Polmont Young Offenders Institution, was sentenced to two years and three months detention.
And today his mum said: “He always had a fascination with motorbikes and was then introduced to cars when he was growing up. He just got in with the wrong crowd last year.”
