The Noose & Monkey: Rosemount Viaduct, Aberdeen

WHEN the chance finally came to leave the house, without getting blown away in the recent storms, I decided to grab some good old does-what-it-says-on-the-tin pub grub.

Choosing to lift the spirits of a friend who had been out on the town the night before, we headed for the Noose and Monkey.

We didn’t take long to pick our dishes from the line-up of tasty treats on the extensive menu.

I settled on a burger and chips (£7) while my friend decided chicken fillets with chips (£8.50) were the best remedy for that day-after-the-night-before feeling.

With a polite and friendly waiter at hand, our food arrived quickly.

The fresh burger had plenty of herbs and onions through it, while the chips were chunky and better than your average pub offering.

My pal quickly finished her succulent chicken breasts in batter, a healthy-sized portion with chips and salad alongside too.

We didn’t need a dessert or coffee after our mains left us content and happy.

Washed down with two large Cokes (£1.70 each), we sat with our stomachs full, ready to take on the world, and weather, once again.
