Jade Garden: Ellon Road, Bridge of Don

DRIVING around town I often make a mental list of all the takeaways I haven’t tried yet.
So, feeling famished, I decided Jade Garden was next in line for a spin.
The meal got off to a great start with the red roast spare ribs (£4.15) – a generous portion of ribs in a sweet, sticky sauce.
But then, on opening the main attraction, me and my mate were a little surprised to find we hadn’t quite got what we had ordered.
After asking for the satay beef, we seemed to have been given the Chicken River Kwai (£5.10).
Thankfully, the tender chunks of meat in a deliciously nutty satay sauce, didn’t disappoint.
And the accompanying egg fried rice (£2.40) was some of the lightest, fluffiest rice I’ve had in ages.
With chips and a tub of barbecue sauce the meal came to £15.35.
So despite the mix-up, I’m sure when my takeaway cravings next kick in, Jade Garden will be near the top of my list.
