Sunflower Garden: Main Street, Pitmedden

AFTER a day of gardening, golfing and tending to the needs of a newborn baby, a quick and easy dining solution was called for.
Having heard only good things about Pitmedden’s Sunflower Garden we faced a hefty choice from their sizeable menu and a bustling queue on a Monday night bode well.
We shared a starter platter for two (£7.40), which was packed with a fine selection of Chinese favourites. Sadly, the chicken skewers were served on a barmy bed of salad leaves.
Next, I opted for honey chilli chicken (£5.00), which had a hefty kick behind its sweet sauce. I sampled my wife’s special chow mein (£5.70) which boasted flavoursome noodles that were tastier than the rather bland rice.
All in all it was a tasty treat, but bring your wallet – it’s payment by cash or cheque only.
