Yu: Langstane Place, Aberdeen

WITH the rain pouring down outside and summer fast becoming a distant memory, it was time to cheer ourselves up with a fine feed.
Yu rarely fails to impress, and we faced a difficult task to choose from a tempting menu.
We decided to share a quarter aromatic crispy duck (£7.80) to start.
The very generous heap of meat was well-flavoured with a satisfying crunch. Served with fresh spring onions and cucumbers and duck sauce, our only gripe was it was a bit short on pancakes.
Next, I chose shredded chilli beef (£5.80), which was lovely and crisp, with a tasty, sweet sauce.
There was more of a spicy kick in the Tze Chui chicken (£5.20), which my other half went for – another very generous serving, with chunks of green pepper, onion and black bean sauce.
Along with fried rice (£1.90) and noodles (£2.30), this tasty treat put us in sunnier mood.
