Silver Bird: Midmill, Kintore

AFTER shipping my pal's kids off to bed it was time for some well-earned comfort food.
So, instead of cooking, we decided to go for a Chinese from the nearby Silver Bird.
For a starter we shared some sesame prawn on toast (£3). It was crispy, fresh and delicious.
We decided to share two mains, so we could dip into a bit of chicken and seafood.
First we chose the sweet and sour prawn balls (£6.40). The prawns were lovely and juicy and set inside a light batter with some deliciously tangy sauce.
The second main we chose was the chilli chicken Hong Kong style (£4.90). Shreds of meat were coated in a very light batter and doused in a spiced glaze with shards of carrot and onions – very moreish.
With a portion of fried rice, some noodles and a portion of crispy prawn crackers - some of which we were made to promise would be left for the kids - the whole meal came to around £18, well worth it.
