Light of Bengal: Rose Street, Aberdeen

WITH all the glorious weather we’ve been having, a curry is probably the least sensible meal to plump for.

But despite the sun beating down outside, I couldn’t shake my hankering for some spice.

After roping in a pal and choosing the Light Of Bengal, I went for the Bengal exotica lamb (£10.75).

It definitely hit the spot, with wonderfully tender morsels of meat drenched in a rich, tangy sauce with a deep kick of spice.

My mate isn’t such a fan of hot curries so he opted for the Kashmiri korma chicken (£10.15). Creamy and lipsmacking, the dish was packed with fruit and huge chunks of chicken.

It was a delicious meal and just about worth the rather hefty £27.90 bill after a Peshwari naan and a portion of pilau rice were thrown into the equation – although the 10% reduction for collection softened the blow on the wallet.
