Ruby Chinese and Thai Carry Out: 112 Cornhill Road

WITH all the festive feasting, it was nice to take a break from the hot stove and pop along for a tempting take away.
Our first encounter with the Ruby was some years back, and it was great to see that standards remain as high as ever.
To start, we shared a portion of tasty vegetable spring rolls (£2.10), which were packed with crispy and tasty veg.
For mains, my husband went for old trusty, sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style (£4.50), which offered tender chicken in a light batter, in a lovely sweet and sticky sauce with plenty of peppers and onions.
And my king prawns in yellow bean sauce (£5.30) had generous-sized, juicy prawns, in a tasty and filling sauce.
Along with noodles and crunchy beansprouts (£2.20) and perfectly cooked fried rice (£1.60), we had more than enough to satisfy the hunger pangs, and give us a rest from the kitchen routine – and the turkey leftovers – for a while.
