A COSY pub in the heart of a snow flurry is always a comfort and The Red House Hotel in Cruden Bay was a real safe haven.
And thoughts of winter weather disappeared at the sight of the venue’s bar supper menu.
With such an extensive range of dishes it was difficult to decide what to have.
I plumped for the deep fried brie (£4.95) for a starter. The crispy batter was a brilliant contrast to the sumptuous melted cheese in the middle.
My pal Stephen went for the deep fried mushrooms (£3.95).
Served with a garlic mayonnaise sauce the crunchy and soft morsels proved to be glorious.
The chicken fajitas (£8.50) were Stephen’s choice of main course. You could tell he enjoyed munching on each sizzling piece.
The sirloin steak (£12.50) with Diane sauce (£2.50) was a real comfort food winner for me. The steak, which was served with giant onion rings and tomatoes, tasted out of this world.
With its very friendly and efficient staff and comfortable dining areas the Red House Hotel is a great place to go for some great pub grub.
