AN ABERDEENSHIRE politician has come up with a novel way to lower accident rates on the region’s roads – by using inflatable police cars.

Councillor Peter Argyle has suggested Aberdeenshire Council sets up inflatable police cars at the side of the road to change people’s attitudes.

The councillor, who heads Aberdeenshire Council’s planning and infrastructure committee, said similar ideas had been used before – including life-size, child-shaped bollards put up outside a school in Leicester last year.
