Fusion: Rousay Drive, Aberdeen

THIS takeaway’s smart signage caught my eye on a trip to Woodend, so I decided to try it out when a late shift and busy evening meant time was short.

The well-designed menu makes ordering simple, with a varied list of starters laid out in ascending price order, and mains organised according to dish styles with a price band for each type of meat.

Starters like prawn tempura and honey coated ribs tempted but we went straight for the main event, plumping for Thai sweet chilli chicken strips (£5.30). The honey-chilli sauce offered a gentle, tangy kick, and coated tender strips of perfectly cooked meat.

We also went for the fruity and delicately-battered sweet and sour pork (£5.30), and the chicken fried rice (£5.30), which had generous chunks of chicken in plump rice.

With fairly grease-free chips (£1.70) and crunchy Fusion-style noodles (£2.30) completing a £19.90 feed, we’ll certainly be back to explore that smart menu again.
