NIKOLA Vujadinovic today claimed he is determined to be a “Red” star for the second time in his career.

The new Aberdeen FC defender is eager to make a success of his season-long loan at Pittodrie from Udinese.

Vujadinovic started his career with Red Star Belgrade, the 1991 European Champions.

The Serbian club also helped establish top internationals such as Manchester United’s Nemanja Vidic and Inter midfielder Dejan Stankovic.

Vujadinovic is sure his upbringing at Red Star will stand him in good stead during his time with Aberdeen FC.

He said: “I spent nine years there.

“They always had good players because Red Star is one of the most famous clubs in Eastern Europe. They have a big tradition.

“Stankovic was at Red Star when he was young, so was Vidic.

“Now I want to prove myself for Aberdeen. Before I went to Udinese I was at other clubs and played very well.

“I won the Bulgarian title when I was at CSKA Sofia and I have also played in the UEFA Cup in the past.

“But when I went to Udinese I didn’t get a chance to prove myself.”
