SCOTLAND skipper Darren Fletcher today insisted winning was all that mattered after they were almost shamed by Euro minnows Liechtenstein at Hampden.
A last-gasp winner from Stephen McManus spared Scotland’s blushes against a nation ranked 141st in the world and whose population is less than the 37,050 crowd at their match in Glasgow.
Fletcher remained unrepentant and is satisfied the 2-1 win put the Scots to the top of their qualifying group.
Fletcher said: “When I look back on this game, all I will remember is that we got the three points.”
