NEW signing Nikola Vujadinovic today admitted he’s desperate to finally get his Aberdeen FC career underway.

The Montenegro Under 21 international defender spent the last week sweating over whether he would be granted a work permit to play in Scotland.

Vujadinovic’s fears over being frozen out of football were ended when Aberdeen FC persuaded a tribunal at Hampden to grant them permission to take the 24-year-old in on loan from Italian club Udinese.

Vujadinovic said: “It’s exciting to be here because I like the quality of Scottish football.

“The highlights are shown on television in Italy, so I know Scottish football is fast and physical.

“Some of the tackling is tough but I can handle that. I’m not afraid.

“Aberdeen are well known as a club with a good pedigree so I’m delighted to play for them.

“I want to do well for them and can’t wait to play my first game.”

The Dons are the sixth club in seven years that Vujadinovic has played for. He won the Bulgarian title with CSKA Sofia before moving to Udinese for £800,000 in 2008.

But he claimed it was the Italian club’s tendency to overload with players that forced him to look for a new club.

He said: “Udinese have signed 100 professionals so it is hard to get a game. I want to play football, so I’m pleased Aberdeen have given me the chance.”

Vujadinovic has been capped for Montenegro at U-21 level.
