PAUL Hartley today called for the chance to help Scotland kick-start their Euro qualifying campaign.

The new Aberdeen FC skipper was an unused substitute as Scotland’s Euro bid suffered an early set-back with a 0-0 draw against Lithuania.

Rangers’ Lee McCulloch was given the nod ahead of the Pittodrie captain for the goalless stalemate in Kaunas.

Now Hartley is desperate to be called into the starting line up to add to his 25 caps and help shoot down Group minnows Liechtenstein at Hampden tomorrow.

He said: “Hopefully, I will start against Liechtenstein, especially as the game is at Hampden.

“It is a game we have to win and I would love to be involved in the tie.

“I can bring experience to the team.

“I would love to start as playing for my country means so much for me.

“Being involved in the Scotland squad again has been a fantastic experience.

Playing against Liechtenstein would top it off.”

Paul - u might get a game - you once played for part of the O.F. BUT u have not given two fingers to the fans so that will count against u. Also u r quite young so plenty years left to get picked.I fully expect Foster to b in Scotland team b4 very long - we all know what a wonderful player he is - especially as he is now at Rangers.
