NEW Aberdeen FC signing Andrius Velicka has vowed to shoot down Scotland before kick-starting his career at Pittodrie.
Velicka claimed he is fit to play for Lithuania in Kaunas tonight and for Aberdeen FC against Dundee United next weekend.
And he is targeting three points against the Scots.
He said: “Lithuania proved a few years ago that we can beat Scotland here. We believe we can do the same again.
“After playing in the SPL for a number of years I know many of the players.
“I have told my team-mates to expect a tough game against a physically powerful Scotland side.
“But hopefully, we’ll get the three points.”
Velicka joined Aberdeen FC from Rangers on the final day of the transfer window in a swap deal that saw Richard Foster switch to Ibrox.
“The move to Aberdeen FC was not such a big surprise to me,” said the 31-year-old.
“I have been in Lithuania all week preparing for the game against Scotland. I spoke to Mark McGhee on the phone and loved what he had to say.
“All the paperwork was done by fax and email.”
He penned a loan deal until the end of the season with Aberdeen FC.
He said: “I can’t think too far into the future and about what might happen after the loan. I just want some games and to prove that I can still play well.”
