ACCESS upgrades to Northfield’s Byron Square car park, in Aberdeen, would cost nearly £300,000, the Evening Express can reveal today.

Business owners and community leaders campaigned for a revamp to the vital community hub.

Restrictions on the Northfield centre’s slip road were driving customers away and businesses were taking a hit on sales figures, it was claimed.

Now an Aberdeen City Council Traffic Management Review has suggested removing the slip road’s double yellow lines to create more parking spaces.
