ABERDEEN FC have been drawn against Raith Rovers at Pittodrie in the third round of the Co-Operative Insurance Cup.

The clash offers Mark McGhee’s side an immediate chance to gain revenge on the Fifers.

Raith, who currently top Division One, sent Aberdeen FC crashing out of the Scottish Cup last season.

The tie will be played on Tuesday, September 21 or Wednesday, September 22.

Third round draw: Rangers v Dunfermline Athletic, Kilmarnock v Hibernian, Aberdeen v Raith Rovers, Falkirk v Heart Of Midlothian, Celtic v Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Ross County V Dundee United, St Johnstone v Queen of the South, Brechin City v Motherwell.
