Surgery this week for Aberdeen FC’s Fyvie

And Sone set for a Tannadice comeback

ABERDEEN FC are confident star winger Sone Aluko will be fit for their next SPL match, against Dundee United at Tannadice on September 11.

Aberdeen FC also expect injured midfielder Fraser Fyvie to have surgery to his injured knee this week.

Aluko missed the 1-0 defeat by Kilmarnock because of an Achilles tendon injury.

The Nigerian international had a plaster cast applied to immobilise his heel but manager Mark McGhee expects to have him available for the trip to Tayside.

“That’s the plan,” said McGhee.

“If we had played Sone in the last two games there was a risk that we could have made the injury worse.

“We decided it was best to give Sone a full two weeks of rest in the hope that he would come back refreshed for the United game.”
