A SCOTTISH lorry driver was arrested in Romania on suspicion of sexually abusing young boys, police said.
Lorry driver James Connor, 33, from Glasgow, was arrested by police in Vaslui, Romania, after a search for a missing nine-year-old boy.
The child was allegedly found in the back of a truck being driven by Scottish man James Connor in Vaslui, Romania, along with another child, police said.
It is also alleged police found a laptop computer containing “obscene images involving minors”.
James Connor was arrested and initially held for 24 hours.
It is alleged Connor spent four days luring children into his lorry around the Romanian towns of Vaslui, Iasi and Brasov.
It is alleged Scottish lorry driver Connor then sexually abused them, filmed the abuse and downloaded it on his computer, police said.
Police said the alleged victims were all from poor families, and Connor gave them money and food to come into his lorry.
They said there could be as many as five victims, all aged between nine and 14.
A police spokesman said: “Policemen in Vaslui’s organised crime unit, in collaboration with the police’s Criminal Investigation Service have documented the criminal activity of a man, 33 years, from Scotland, on suspicion of child pornography.
“Following checks and investigations by the police Criminal Investigation Service Vaslui, in the case of the disappearance of a minor aged nine years, James Connor was found driving a truck in the city of Vaslui.
“Police identified the missing child and another minor in his truck.”
