ABERDEEN-BORN superstar Annie Lennox has quit her record label – to aim for Christmas number one.
The singer will release a collection of “dark” covers of Christmas carols through Amy Winehouse’s label Island Records.
Annie Lennox, who has sold more than 80 million albums with the Eurythmics and as a solo artist, has left music giant Sony.
She has signed a “long-term” contract with the Universal Music Group, whose artists include Lady Gaga and Rihanna.
Annie, a former pupil of Aberdeen High School for Girls, now Harlaw Academy, revealed she had wanted to make the album “for many years”.
