A VAN and a car were set on fire in separate attacks in Aberdeen.

The van was badly damaged in the fire, which happened on Aberdeen’s Hallfield Road, Mastrick.

A fire crew from North Anderson Drive was called to the scene in Aberdeen to put out the flames.

Police said the fire, at 5.30am yesterday, was thought to have been deliberate.

The car was set on fire in Aberdeen’s Woodside area on Great Northern Road.

The incident, which happened between 4am and 4.30am on Saturday, also left the car damaged.

A police spokesman said the incident was also being treated as suspicious.

In a third incident, three people suffered smoke inhalation after a fire broke out at a home in Aberdeen.

Two fire crews were called to Kirkwall Avenue in Sheddocksley around 12.50am yesterday.

It took the firefighters about 20 minutes to get the fire under control.

A Grampian Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Three casualties suffered smoke inhalation.”
