MORE than 150 mourners gathered at St Mary’s Cathedral in Aberdeen to say a final, heartbreaking farewell to three little innocents.

North-east twins Austin and Luke Riggi, 8, and their five-year-old sister, Cecilia were found stabbed to death in an Edinburgh flat.

The children’s American-born father Pasquale Riggi, of Aberdeen’s Riverside Drive, looked pale and drawn as he arrived at the Huntly Street cathedral.

As the bell of the Aberdeen cathedral tolled, Mr Riggi stepped from a black Daimler car, accompanied by his parents, Mario and Silvia Riggi, his sister Lillian Manchinelli and her husband Joe. Mr Riggi, his eyes shaded by dark glasses, walked unsupported into the cathedral.
