Lahore Karahi: King Street, Aberdeen

AFTER a hard week of getting her flat packed up, my friend was in need of a good feed.
We opted to go for something a little bit different by trying Pakistani takeaway Lahore Karahi.
While they served the familiar dishes, I went for their Lahori Chicken Karahi (£6.25) and asked for it to be hot. The dish didn't disappoint.
The speciality curry had a well-rounded burn and a reasonable amount of succulent chicken chunks. However, there was a layer of grease on top of the dish. My friend opted for a chef’s speciality, and a favourite of native Pakistanis, Haleem (£6.50)
The slowly-cooked lamb mince and lentil dish was incredibly hearty with its stovie-esque consistency and subtly spiced flavour.
We opted for a plain roti (£1), a thin bread which was light and tasty. We also shared a peshwari naan (£2.25).
The syrupy sweetness of the bread complemented our main dishes well, and was easily our favourite part of the meal.
