I LOVE it when a new takeaway opens up, for one reason – it’s a cracking excuse to avoid cooking.
So when a place opened in Culter, there was only one thing for it – we were going in.
Despite a mammoth menu, one starter caught our eyes – the mixed platter (£8).
Everything on the plate was really fresh. The prawn toast was crispy and had just the right amount of sesame seeds and while the spring rolls were nice, they did lack that homemade touch.
The Boss’ main course, Szechuan chicken (£4.20), was packed full of veg and had a great, tangy sauce which had just the kick she was looking for.
My beef Saigon (£5.30), as described on the menu, was both sweet and spicy, while the garlic just gave it something different. The beef itself was fine and tender – not too tough as is often the case in some take aways.
Along with a couple of portions of fluffy rice, the total bill came to £21.30.
