Miller’s appeal to Aberdeen FC fans

Willie in plea for supporters to return

PLEA: Willie Miller. PLEA: Willie Miller.

ABERDEEN FC football director Willie Miller hopes the signing of Paul Hartley will help to persuade more fans to come back to Pittodrie.

Aberdeen’s attendances dropped dramatically towards the end of last season.

Sales of season tickets for the coming campaign have also been well below the levels of previous years.

Miller said: “If the fans don’t turn up, if they don’t come to the games, there will be less money and more cut-backs.

“I would hope the fans see this as a positive move for the club and show a willingness to come out in bigger numbers.

“We took some flak for how we did last season and can live with that, it was an extremely disappointing campaign.

“But we have worked hard over the summer to gather a squad together.”

As good a signing as Hartley is, lets not get ahead of oursleves here WM. One swallow doesn't make a summer. And one decent signing doesn;t justify paying you a base salary without bonuses of £250k a year either.

I am happy aberdeen are changing the policy of buying some players, but we are not idiots, we all knew change was needed two seasons ago but Milne and WM think that people are just going to keep turning up to watch rubbish, NOW YOU KNOW.I am sure you will get a reasonable attendence to see the start of the season, but i think AFC have pushed a lot of supporters to the limit.I really hope we do well and get a good start that is what you should be hoping for, the crowds will come back.the Die hards and i am not one deserve the best.
