MY LAST stop on a night out never alters – the kebab shop. However, as I’ve been behaving on the going-out front recently, I decided to try a kebab at a reasonable hour.

I went for a Meze House one-person meal deal which, at £10 included two starters, a main course and a drink.

I opted for hummus and pitta, which came in a huge tub topped with olives and tomatoes, and had a dominant garlic flavour while tasting healthy. I also went for vegetable pakora which were subtly spiced, lightly fried and came with a mild chilli dip.

For the main I opted for a chicken kebab which was served on a plate. The pitta was bulging with shredded cabbage, onion, tomato and slabs of freshly-grilled chicken and topped with chilli and garlic sauce.

And the verdict – a light meal bursting with flavour which was thoroughly enjoyed.
