TIDYING up the flat before putting it on the market is tiring work.
So feeling rather guilty about watching The Boss clean her little heart out, I felt obliged to take her out for lunch.
Having worked up a mammoth hunger spectating her efforts, it was going to take something big to please this punter.
And the legendary “Badboy burger” (£8.49) did just the trick.
A glorious 12oz burger laced with bacon, cheese and onion rings – it was tasty ... and filling. The juicy, tender beef with the sweet-cured bacon was just cracking, while the salad and chips were the perfect accompaniment.
It’s not very often I don’t finish a meal but this time I was well and truly beaten.
The Boss – fresh from a morning of ordering me around – joined yours truly in the burger theme, but going for the vegetable option (£5.99). Her choice went down a treat, with a nice crispy coating and was packed with vegetables.
However, her spicy potato wedges (an extra 69p) lacked the kick they were supposed to have and ended up being quite bland.
Oh how she looked on with envy as I tucked into my pile of chips!
With two soft drinks, the bill came to £19.77.
