THE organisers of the AIFF hope to attract Manchester United to enter the tournament next year.

This year saw a host of top professional clubs enter teams into the competition to showcase their emerging talent.

Birmingham, Sunderland, Celtic, Motherwell, Dundee United, Hibs, St Johnstone and Falkirk all entered sides.

tournament director Mike Pocock admitted he is keen to see a side from Old Trafford come up to the Granite City next year.

He said: “I would absolutely love to get a side from Manchester United up for the festival next year.

“It would be fantastic for the festival and I am sure they would attract big crowds if they were playing.

“We will be trying hard to see if we can manage it.”

The organisers tried to get a young Red Devils side for this year’s tournament, but the Premier League giants’ schedule was fully booked
