ABERDEEN FC keeper Jamie Langfield is on the mend and confident he will be fit for the start of the season.

Langfield burned the top of his right foot after spilling boiling water over it in a freak accident on the team bus during their journey to England on Friday.

He was scheduled to be sent back to Aberdeen on Saturday, but is still with the squad after club doctor Gary Ritchie decided he could treat Langfield himself.

The burn isn’t serious, although Langfield was left with a huge blister on the top of the foot.

That has now been lanced and cleaned and if the wound doesn’t become infected he should make a rapid recovery.
