ABERDEEN-EAST End’s Natalie Brown was the goal-scoring hero on finals day of the AIFF.

The 14-year-old bagged a dream double against Buchan Quines to see the Granite City team lift the coveted Lord Provost’s trophy as champions of the girls’ section.

Natalie, from Airyhall, was actually pushed up from her usual position of right-midfield to play as striker after Aberdeen-East End’s main forward Kimberley Webster was missing as she went on holiday.

And the gamble paid off spectacularly, with Natalie bagging a brace to fire her side to a 3-1 victory, which also made her joint top scorer for the girls’s section of the tournament.

Natalie said: “It was a dream to get two goals in the final.

“I never thought it could go so well.

“I have to thank my team-mates, everyone worked so hard and it was a real team effort for us to have won the cup.”

Rebecca Centre scored Aberdeen-East End’s other goal, with Louise McCouaig replying for Buchan.

The finals day was held at the Aberdeen Sports Village for the first time and was a roaring success with crowds steadily building throughout the day until there was barely a seat left in the stands as people flooded in to catch some of the best young talent in the country.

In the boys’ 14s final, Motherwell beat a spirited Falkirk side 3-1, with the strikes coming from Daniel McDonald, Steven Higgins and Liam Anderson.

Christopher McLaughlin netted for the Bairns.

Celtic triumphed in the boys’ under-16s section after beating Hibs 3-0 in the final.

John Herron, Joseph Chalmers and a Bradley Donaldson own goal sealed the win for the Bhoys.
