ABERDEEN FC keeper Jamie Langfield was today on the way home after being ruled out of their pre-season tour of England.

The 30-year-old spilled boiling water over his right foot during the bus journey south after the bus jerked while he was attempting to pour water from a small kettle while making himself a cup of coffee.

The injury is not thought to be serious, but Langield is returning to Aberdeen to recuperate and is expected to be sidelined for at least a fortnight.

Aberdeen FC boss Mark McGhee, who immediately ordered third choice keeper Scott Bain to head south and add back-up to summer signing Mark Howard during their tour, admitted it’s a blow to lose Langfield.
