TEENAGE striker Mitch Megginson was today challenged to prove he’s up to leading the Aberdeen FC attack in their SPL opener against Hamilton.

The 18-year-old has travelled with Aberdeen to their training camp at Loughborough University.

Aberdeen FC manager Mark McGhee made it clear that Mitch, who has impressed in all three of the friendly games they have played so far, isn’t in England just to make up the numbers.

“We’ve taken Mitch because we have been delighted with the way he has performed since we’ve come back from the summer break,” said McGhee.

“He’s in great shape and has earned a crack at showing if he is ready to stay involved at first team level.”
