AN ABERDEEN FC fan almost died after his home-made sheep costume was set alight on a train.

Arjuna Rabindarnath suffered second and third degree burns to more than 40% of his body on his way home from an away match.

Fellow Aberdeen supporter Peter Wallace, 24, appeared in court and admitted flicking a cigarette lighter, causing Mr Rabindarnath’s costume to catch fire, endangering his life.

Sheriff McCulloch called for background reports and warned Wallace that “all sentencing options” remained open.
