ABERDEEN FC were today urged to scour the Highland League for talent by former hitman Duncan Shearer.
Aberdeen FC boss Mark McGhee is operating within a tight budget for summer signings, and so far the only player to agree to move to Pittodrie is centre-half Rory McArdle from Rochdale.
But ex-Scotland marksman Shearer insisted there is a pool of cheap potential talent right on their doorstep in the shape of the Highland League.
He said: “Aberdeen should be scouring the league for players, because there will be guys with the potential to do a job for them there.”
