Nazma Tandoori: Station Road, Ellon

GOING into a busy restaurant to pick up your take-away always has an awkward feel as diners give you the once over while you linger.

But luckily, my order was ready on time and I was on my way within about two minutes.

We decided to share the mixed pakora to start, a feast of six chunky pieces of vegetables, chicken and fish wrapped in batter.

They were quickly demolished with a selection of dips. The only complaint was the batter was slightly soggy, but it was a good start to our feast.

Having been here before, we knew one portion of pilau rice would be more than enough for us both.

Despite my fiancee saying between bites her chicken korma was “better the last time”, she still only left a few spoonfuls of this delicious dish.

I went for the chicken tikka masala and was delighted by the amount of tender chicken to go along with the tangy sauce.

Our cheese nan, although not exactly warm, mopped up the remainder of the dish. With two popadoms, the total bill came to £24.45.
