Pyramid system could open door for Highland League clubs

SFA President George Peat today threw his weight behind the revolutionary idea of introducing a pyramid system to Scottish Football.

Such a radical shake-up would open the door for ambitious Highland League clubs to make the step up into Division Three.

Discussions have taken place over the potential introduction of a pyramid system and Peat, a guest of honour at the Highland League awards ceremony, admitted he would be keen to see it introduced in Scotland.
