Mintlaw hold their nerve to make it five in a row

MINTLAW Academy are on a high after making it a fantastic five Scottish Senior Girls Shield successes in a row.

They were forced to do it the hard way though, eventually winning a tense penalty shootout against Calderglen High School from East Kilbride.

The match ended all square following a hard fought tussle in glorious sunshine at junior side Forfar West End’s Strathmore Park.

However, Mintlaw held their nerve when it came down to spot-kicks to decide the winner, converting all four of their efforts, while Calderglen could only score once.
