Man hid infection from lovers

A MAN who was jailed after infecting a woman with HIV has launched another bid to be freed early.
Chef Mark Devereaux, who previously worked at a hotel in Stonehaven, was jailed for 10 years after admitting hiding his infection from lovers and passing it to the woman who carried his twins.
Mr Devereaux had unprotected sex with four women without telling them he had been diagnosed with the virus in 1994.
The 41-year-old, who was sentenced to 10 years in jail after he admitted charges of culpable and reckless conduct at the High Court in Edinburgh in January, has lodged an appeal against the length of his sentence after an initial appeal was rejected.
