ANTHEA Teasdale and David Mayers have enjoyed living the high life in their fabulous home.
The impressive self-contained apartment spans two levels at Aberdeen’s Hilton Heights.
And the panoramic views from the wall-to-wall windows of their lounge are truly breathtaking.
“On a clear day you can see right across the city and you have a view of the sea,” said Anthea, 49, who has just celebrated her engagement to David.
“It’s very, very light and bright in the lounge and is perfect for entertaining, which we like to do often,” Anthea added.
The curved bay widow in the lounge with feature balcony runs from one wall to the other and fills the room with light.
David, a 55-year-old consultant for BP, bought the property five years ago and set about changing the colourful decor into a more neutral style.
The more muted tones have been perfect for showcasing the much-loved limited edition Jack Vettriano prints which he collects.
His collection currently stands at 12 and they can be seen dotted around the property, up the winding staircase, around the splendid lounge and above the beds.
Although the property is a flat, it has the feel of a house with its own front entrance and living accommodation covering two floors.
Another striking and unusual feature of this home is in the dining kitchen.
On a raised level from the rest of the room stands a little dining booth – like one you might see in an American diner.
The area has a feature oriel window, adding to its charm, as well as recessed areas for storage and decoration.
Anthea said: “We sit here quite a lot. It’s got the little window so it’s another bright spot, and we’ve had lots of compliments from people who have come in.
“Most people are quite surprised by how spacious the property is.
“It’s really a nice, comfortable place to live with lots going for it.
“It’s a Malcolm Allan build, close to the city centre but far enough away to still be quiet, plus the neighbours are lovely and friendly.”
David and Anthea are now swapping their city life for a move to the country.
“We’re in the process of doing up a cottage in Fyvie where we hope to settle down and get a couple of dogs,” added Anthea.
