IT SAYS a lot for my capabilities as a grown-up that I can go to the supermarket for a whole week’s worth of shopping and still not have anything in for tea.

So off I went to get Her Ladyship something nice to ease the fury being thrown my way.

Our mixed platter starter (£8.80) was perfect. The crispy seaweed was the highlight for me, with the sauce accompanying the pork choplets making it even better, while the spring rolls and prawn toast weren’t too bad either.

My fiancee’s main course of shredded chilli beef (£6.96) was too spicy for my liking – which meant she had it all to herself. The gooey sauce made for the perfect dish, although it was too garlicky.

The sauce in my steak Canton (£8.96) had a super tangy taste, while the meat itself was expertly cooked. We also enjoyed a portion of boiled rice (£1.84) and egg flecked rice (£2.24).

With food this good, perhaps The Boss should let me do the shopping more often ...
