Fusion: Holburn Street, Aberdeen

AFTER avoiding the calorie-packed minefield of takeaway grub since I embarked on a strict diet at the start of the year, my resolve crumbled as I read Fusion’s menu.
And my husband and No 1 son were only too happy to help me with my blow-out.
The tasty Thai chicken sticks and ribs, Vietnamese rolls, and even the disappointing pakora on the Fusion platter (for two) (£6.50), were scoffed in seconds. The Fusion special curry (£5.50) was a mix of tasty beef, juicy chicken and mega prawns in a Chinese curry sauce which lacked the two chilli heat it promised. However, the lovely tangy taste of the chunks of beef and tender chicken in the chargrilled chow mein (£5) was a real treat.
The flavour of the teriyaki sesame chicken (£5), which came with salad and yummy noodles, was a delicate delight.
A portion of fried rice (£1.50) and, sadly, limp soggy chips (£1.50), rounded off my stumble off the path to a slimmed-down me.
