WOULD-BE buyers have already expressed interest in snapping up homes on Donald Trump’s world-class resort.

And residents of Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire are at the front of the queue after more than 600 people attended an exhibition into the tycoon’s plans for the Menie estate.

Estate boss Sarah Malone said: “Many people asked about the price of homes and holiday villas and we will now create a mailing list specifically for those interested in purchasing property when it becomes available.”

The public were invited to share their views on a course and a masterplan at a two-day exhibition in Newburgh.

The course, designed by Hawtree Ltd, the oldest golf architectural practice in the world, is planned for 2012 while the housing would follow in later years.

Ms Malone, executive vice-president of Trump International – Scotland, said: “Around 100 people completed feedback forms while on site and we are still receiving comments via e-mail and post.

“The response was overwhelmingly supportive with many people expressing relief that work had started, despite the difficult economic times.

“It was interesting to learn that there is still a misconception that the golf course will not be accessible to all and that access to the beach will be restricted.

In both cases the public can be assured that access will be increased and local people will be able to enjoy the Trump facilities.”

Mr Trump has outline planning permission for two golf courses, a 450-bedroom hotel, 950 holiday homes and 500 houses.
